Healthy Ranting and Salted Caramel Apple Smoothie - 'coz eating healthy need not be boring and I've been away from here for far too long.

Excuse me, for an excerpt from the imaginary book of my life follows before this recipe :

How many of you are or associate with someone or the other whose astrological sign is Taurus? I am a typical girl and believe in astrological sciences and as a Taurus woman I would like to tell you that I am either extremely lazy or extremely active. I have spent 45 days inside my house without feeling the need for stepping out at one point in my life and I don't regret it at all. On the other hand I have been pushing myself to the limit with non stop baking and working out at least twice every day for the past two months.

It is beyond my understanding why I chose to just play Garfield and sloth around and let all my hard work from last year go to waste, but I have managed to put on all the weight I had lost plus more. I was exhibiting the classic behavior of being in denial until one day my bubble burst when I saw my own picture from last year and went into a mild shock. No, I did not need to lose the kilos, I needed to change my lifestyle.

For someone who bakes cakes at home almost on a daily basis, attends food reviews every now and then and her life revolves around the unhealthiest of foods, it is very difficult to stay in shape. But you know what, challenge accepted. I have decided to channelize my classic Taurus trait of stubbornness towards achieving all my goals to a fitter and healthier me.

I willingly fell prey to the 30 day challenge fever and I am loving every single day of it. After successfully completing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred, I am now on the third week of her Ripped in 30 routine, and also on the 4th Day of the 30 Day Wall Sit. Maybe this is what I needed, the road to a fitter me, 30 days at a time. Yesterday was my annual Pilot medical and despite all the weight, my examiner made me jog for 5 minutes at a steady pace and was impressed with my stamina. This is a huge feat for me considering I couldn't even jog for 30 seconds 2 months ago.

While I am also trying to watch what I eat and counting my calories (Thanks to My Fitness Pal), I believe in Jillian's mantra that you can eat your way through any amount of exercise. Earn your calories and eat whatever you like. Just don't go overboard. Portion control is the key to fulfilling and satiating your taste buds and tummy. Now that I've preached so much and probably driven half the crowd away from this post, here is my recipe for a quick fix, filling, and absolutely yummy Salted Caramel Apple Smoothie.

Salted Caramel Apple Smoothie
Serves 1
Recipe : Self; and Salted Caramel from here.

Blend all the ingredients together and enjoy!

WOMAN!!! THANK YOU. I was huge and lost around 16 kilos as of now. But as they say when u r really fat even moving your hands would lead u to shed some weight. Now I have reached a stage where the weight isnt reducing and I am someone who can diet. I had heard of the insanity workout but it seemed too dangerous on the knees with their suicide jumps and stuff. So yes I am so going to try the 30 day shred!!!! and awesome recipe right there!!!

Hello there! :) Good luck with the Shred! Yes, 10 days each, and once you're done with that, move on to Ripped In 30! :)
